Hiking in the Fall
Fall is one of the best times to get out and explore some of the beautiful hiking trails here in our state! The weather starts to cool off but it’s not too chilly to be out. Our family has enjoyed many of our state parks, nature preserves, and hiking trails.
If you are heading out on a fall hiking adventure, make sure you take the essential hiking gear so you are prepared!

Kentucky is home to many locally owned and operated corn mazes and pumpkin patches! Check out this great list to find Pumpkin Patches and More in the county near you. We have visited many of our local pumpkin patches to make memories with the kids. It’s always a highlight in our family!

Visit the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular
One of the things on our list of things to experience is the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular in Iroquois Park, Louisville. The Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular is held in Iroquois Park with 5,000 carved pumpkins lining a ¼-mile walking trail, illuminated at night as an “art show” daily from dusk to 11 p.m. during the week (Sunday-Thursday) and midnight on Friday & Saturday. OCTOBER 1 – NOVEMBER 1, 2020.
World’s Largest Halloween Party at the Zoo
If your kids prefer to have fun more than they enjoy being scared, then check out the huge Halloween party geared for kids at the Louisville Zoo! This Halloween Party at the Zoo is sure to be a hit! Join us for an evening of magical Halloween fun for the whole family as storybook scenes come to life with costumed characters and trick-or-treating throughout the Zoo for kids 11 and under.
