Celebrating Dr Seuss in Springfield MA

One of our favorite stops on last summer’s road trip was the Dr. Seuss Memorial Sculpture Garden in Springfield, Massachusetts. When the kids were little we read all the Dr. Seuss books. One of the first books my oldest was able to read on his own was The Foot Book. Who can quote it with me now? Slow feet/Quick feet/Well feet/Sick feet

Dr Seuss Memorial Sculpture Garden

Theodor Seuss Geisel was born on March 2, 1904 in Springfield, Massachusetts. At the time, his family lived on Howard Street in Springfield’s South End. The family soon moved to Fairfield Street. The Geisel home was not far from Mulberry Street, the subject of his first children’s book And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street, published in 1937.
