Celebrating Dr Seuss in Springfield MA
One of our favorite stops on last summer’s road trip was the Dr. Seuss Memorial Sculpture Garden in Springfield, Massachusetts. When the kids were little we read all the Dr. Seuss books. Theodor Seuss Geisel was born on March 2, 1904 in Springfield, Massachusetts. At the time, his family lived on Howard Street in Springfield’s South End. The family soon moved to Fairfield Street. The Geisel home was not far from Mulberry Street, the subject of his first children’s book And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street, published in 1937.
