Moms are SuperHeroes
I participated in an Ambassador Activation on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for the Northwestern Mutual Foundation. I received a promotional item to thank me for participating. #MyHeroMom
Moms are superheros! That doesn’t mean that each Mom is perfect, but Moms do heroic things every day. Today we celebrate Mother’s Day. We honor those women in our life who have birthed us, raised us, been role-models, fought through sickness, given up their careers or their own dreams to see us become the people we are today. My Mom has proven through personal motivation and sacrifice that it is never too late to follow your dream and finish college; that good health is a goal worth working very hard for and that anything is possible if we work hard and use our creative imaginations.
Moms are Super Heroes
My mom is a superhero to me. My 9 year old daughter has told me that she thinks of me as a hero. I not only have a Christian mom who has partnered with my Dad to raise me up and become the person I am today, but I have a 94 Year old Grandma who is still impacting my life on a daily basis.
My Mother-in-Law has been a part of my life for over 20 years and is another superhero. These ladies have invested their lives into me.
Today as the world celebrates Mother’s Day, I think about my aunt who fought childhood cancer with her three year old son and now sees him as a man who beat leukemia. I think of others who are celebrating Mother’s Day without their mom because of cancer, stroke or other disease. I know that this is one day of the year where we can celebrate the moms and the ladies who are our heroes.
Here is a company who has decided to make a monetary difference in the fight against childhood cancer and celebrate Mom’s at the same time! Won’t you join me?
From now till Tuesday, Northwestern Mutual is rallying sons, daughters and those who want to honor their own “heroic” moms or mother figures by uploading images of them to Twitter, Instagram and/or Facebook with the hashtag #myheromom. For each social action (image upload, Facebook share and like, tweet and retweet) we upload, the Northwestern Mutual Foundation will donate $5 to its nonprofit partner, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF), up to $50,000 for childhood cancer research.
