When you go on vacation, you need a place to stay that gives you the comforts of home. When we were planning our mini-vacation recently, I knew we wanted to visit and experience downtown Philadelphia but I wasn’t sure where we should stay. So, I did the smart thing. If you have visited a large city recently, you know that it’s not always fun to drive around and look for parking when you are visiting the sites. It’s much more enjoyable to tour the downtown on foot or by using public transportation. Home2Suites gave us a great central location to use as our home base while we were touring Philly.

Home2 Suites offered everything we needed in overnight accommodations. There were 2 double beds as well as as a pull out double couch. This allowed the 5 of us to stretch out and get some good rest. There was a fully functional kitchen area as well as plenty of counter space along the entire side of the room. I had never seen a room that gave you so much counter space.

There is even a phone charger by the bed in case you forgot your own charger.

The pool area was a great place for the kids to relax after a day of trekking through downtown Philly. If you want to get in some exercise before bed, there is a full fitness room available as well with towels available for guests.

Breakfast was included in the stay which allows you to save money for an additional meal. This was not your average breakfast bar. Everything at the Home 2 Suites is focused on helping you live a healthy life – even while you’re on vacation or business. There was a build your own oatmeal or cereal bar with fruit, nuts, and toppings to create your custom breakfast bowl. If you are more interested in waffles, eggs or yogurt, you have those options as well.

Things to Know

• As an extra safety feature, you will need your elevator key to access your floor from the elevator. Simply swipe it across the reader before you punch in your floor number. You also use your key to access the pool area and fitness room.
• Home 2 Suites is located right next door to BurgerFI and Panera Bread and across the street from Reading Market Terminal. You are also only 1 block from Hard Rock Cafe and the main Convention Center.
• Historic downtown Philly is just a few blocks down from the hotel. You can walk to Independence Hall, Betsy Ross’s Home or the US Mint.
