Make sure you use Clean Snow
Remember the old saying “Never Eat Yellow Snow”? That is never more true than when you start to make snow cream. Snow Cream is a delicious winter treat, but you must make sure you collect the right snow.
We have a Yorkie who doesn’t like the snow but still must go out. It’s very obvious where he has been in our yard this past week. And you don’t want to get old snow!
Use a small bowl to scrape off the top layer of snow to bring inside for your snow cream.

There are many variations for making snow cream but it all boils down to several simple ingredients. You need something to make it creamy and something to make it sweet. You mix it all together and serve quickly.
Typical Snow Cream Recipe
- Milk
- Snow
- Sugar
- Vanilla
- Gather a big bowl of fresh snow.
- Add enough sugar to make it sweet
- Add about 2 tsp Vanilla
- Pour in enough milk to give it a creamy consistency.
