Christmas at the Galt House Tips
Each Christmas season we like to try a new holiday lights display or Christmas activity for the family. We’ve been to various light shows in KY and TN, holiday events at Dixie Stampede and Dollywood, and enjoyed the Mega Caverns at Lights under Louisville. But this year we wanted something a little different. We decided to go to Christmas at the Galt House in Louisville. If you are planning to visit the Galt House, here are some things to know!

Christmas at the Galt House Tips
Weather is not a factor
One of the things that you have to deal with in outdoor holiday light shows or activities is possible inclement weather. It may be too cold to spend much time outside with young children. Christmas at the Galt House is mostly indoors so you don’t have to worry about getting cold. There is a very small part where you walk outside, but the rest of the time you are in a warm building.
Parking is Easy
Since you can park inside the parking garage attached to the hotel, it’s not hard to get a parking spot. There is no long line of traffic while you wait to get to the entrance to the holiday display.
You will pay for parking, but it is easy to access and affordable.
You have FREE & paid options
If you are looking for free options to enjoy the holiday season, you can enjoy a part of the Christmas at the Galt House. But if you want to experience the full effect, you will need to buy a ticket. You can pick up the tickets on the 2nd floor of the hotel.
The ticket will get you access to most of the exhibits, but there are extra experiences you can pay for along the way like face painting, pictures with Santa or holiday shows.
For the younger children, there are lots of magical moments along the way like the holiday peppermint train!
Enjoy the KaLightoscope
One of our favorite pieces of Christmas at the Galt House is the KaLightoscope: 12 Days of Christmas. This interactive area takes you through larger than life luminaries showcasing each of the 12 days of Christmas.
Everything is Accessible
Since the entire Christmas at the Galt House experience is housed on the hotel premises, you have easy access to steps, escalators or elevators to access the different areas of the exhibits.
Food is available
Whether you are looking for hot cocoa in the Gingerbread Village or a full meal in one of the on site restaurants or cafes, there are several food options at the Galt House.
Have your Battery Charged
Make sure you have a full battery and an empty phone or camera so you can take lots of pictures. You’re going to want to capture every moment!
