How to Help Small Business Owners in 2020

I think we can all agree that this has been an unusual year for most of us. However, 2020 has had it’s silver linings. Many small business owners have been able to grow their businesses and create amazing things. This year as you are making your holiday gift list, consider these ways to support small businesses.

This post includes affiliate links. Some products were received to faciliate this post. Other items I purchased because I want to support my friends.

How to Help Small Business Owners in 2020

Support your Blogger Friends

Some bloggers may not have a product that they create and sell but that doesn’t mean they don’t need support. Did you know that everytime you visit your friend’s blog they get a page view (and page views add up to ultimately give them more income and opportunities)? Even if you do absolutely nothing other than open their blog and read a post, they get the benefit! Bonus points apply if you are able to click like, share or subscribe to their social media channels.

Handmade Products

When you see that your friends are creating gifts and products, spend a few dollars and make a purchase! I have friends and small business owners who are selling some amazing items right this minute. Whether you are shopping for handmade soaps, specialty candles, or handturned wooden prodcuts – pens, cutting boards, ornaments and more, you can find someone who has a small business creating these items.

I love promoting small businesses like Butter and Lye who started this year in Brooklyn, New York.

Butter and Lye is a natural soap company committed to creating products that are simple and gentle on your skin. Full of what your skin needs and free from what it doesn’t, our bar soaps provide the perfect clean without artificial fragrances, colors, or any of the toxins that leave your skin feeling dull, dry, and damaged.

Efficiently cleanse your hair, face, and body while nourishing your skin with this three pack of all-natural bar soap made with organic ingredients.

Practical and Smart

Many people love to fill their Christmas stockings with practical items like toothpaste, toothbrushes and toiletries. Did you know that you can buy these practical products and support smaller businesses at the same time?

Dr. Plotka’s Toothbrushes offers a breakthrough in oral care with these innovative features:

Support Friends Products

You can support local clothing boutiques by buying stocking stuffer items like ornaments, pouches, and handtowels or support friends who are selling necklaces, earrings and braclets.

My friend Heather has a new book that is helping women all around the world with their journey through pregnancy and beyond. I love the fact that I can pair her book Connecting With Your Body Throughout Pregnancy with some cute baby items and have the perfect baby shower gift and help support my friend at the same time!

Preorder & Show Support

Some small business owners are working on books and courses but they’re not quite ready to ship. Show your support by preordering their products now to help them as they prepare for their release date!

How are you supporting your friends and small business owners this season? If you have a small business or an idea for how we can help you, drop a link or leave a comment! I’d love to help support you!
