Denim & Vintage Quilt State Map

I know it’s no surprise to you, but I love decorating my house with vintage quilts. I also love to travel both in my home state of Kentucky and the rest of America. So I’ve been thinking of different ways to merge my love for Kentucky and my love for all things quilt. Here’s a super fun way to bring both of these together and create a denim and vintage quilt state map to decorate your home.

Denim & Vintage Quilt State Map

I’ve experimented with several versions of these map displays, and honestly, I can’t decide if I like the denim on quilt background or the quilt state on denim background best. Each of them just has a little different look, and I can’t pick a favorite yet.

Materials Needed:

  • Denim (old jeans work great)
  • Vintage cutter quilt
  • Scissors
  • State map paper cutout
  • Fabric Glue (optional)
  • Picture Frame of choice
  • Cardboard backing (optional)

Directions:

Print and cut out the shape of your state on paper so you have a pattern.
Cut your state out of denim.

Decide what part of the quilt you want to use as your background and cut the quilt to fit your frame.

Use the fabric adhesive spray if you want to attach your quilt piece to the cardboard backing.

Insert the fabric and state shape in your picture frame.

Display in a place you can enjoy!

Spread the love
