Things to Know When Hiking Anna Ruby Falls
One of the most popular waterfalls in northern Georgia is Anna Ruby Falls. Located just a couple of miles from Helen, Georgia, this popular trail is well worth the time. Things to Know When Hiking Anna Ruby Falls
There is a charge per person when you enter the waterfall area and plenty of parking spots at the Visitor Center before you begin your hike.
Some waterfall hikes are all about the destination. You walk through the woods until you finally arrive at the waterfall. But Anna Ruby Falls is definitely not like that. From the beginning of the hike, you get to enjoy amazing cascades right off the trail.
*Make sure your phone is charged and ready for pictures, because there are lots of places to stop and enjoy the beauty along the path.
The twin waterfalls plunge more than 150 feet on the paved trail from the visitor information center. The trail is out and back and is considered moderate with seating areas along the way. However, since the trail is almost all uphill it can be a bit strenuous so pack plenty of water and take your time.
Spectacular Anna Ruby Falls lies in the heart of the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest and has become one of North Georgia’s premier spots to visit. The Recreation Area consists of a visitor center with local crafts, educational items and clothing, picnic spots, fishing, and of course the paved hiking trail to Anna Ruby Falls. - There is a $5.00 fee for each person over the age of 16 when you enter the waterfall area.
- Restrooms are available at the Visitors Center before you start the hike.
- The trail is paved and is technically stroller friendly but the trail is mostly uphill so think about the incline before you decide to take it up the trail.
