See the Capital: Old Town Trolley Tours
How to Get There
Take the Metro to the Federal Triangle Metro Station. From that stop, you are only 0.2 miles to the Washington Visitor Center where you pick up your stickers and start your tour.
There are several of the Trolleys that have a wheelchair lift. If you need that service, just tell the driver and they will make sure and call for the one that is best for you. You may have to wait a few minutes for it to come back around, but it is an available option.
There are 25 stops along the tour, including stops at all the major attractions and monuments. You can just stay on the trolley and enjoy the loop around the city and listen to the live narration along the way. Or you can choose to ride the trolley to each stop and get off and explore. The trolleys come by each of the stops about every 30 minutes. If you miss the trolley, just sit tight and wait for the next one.
At most of the stops, there is a sign showing you where to wait for the next trolley. There are a few stops that don’t have signs, but the driver will tell you where the next trolley will meet you.
Each of the trolleys is a bit different on the inside. But each one is driven by a friendly, knowledgeable tour guide. Two of our drivers really stood out and made the experience even more personable. Here’s a shout out to Jewel and Sunny, our drivers on different legs of the tour. Each of them had personal anecdotes to share about the area as well as the traditional tourist information.
Hop aboard Old Town Trolley and enjoy a fun-filled day of Transportainment! You’ll enjoy a fully-narrated tour of the city while being able to hop on and off as much as you’d like. Our tour route has been carefully crafted with the right amount of stops at all the right places -plus, we’re the only tour that takes you into Arlington National Cemetery, a must-see before leaving our nation’s capital.
Don’t be confused by other hop on hop off style bus tours. You are looking for the orange and green trolley buses!
