Omni Resorts: Family Fun in the Desert
When we are on a road trip we push pretty hard. We cram in time for exploring historic landmarks, museums, national parks, waterfalls and of course log many miles in the car. But after about a week of pushing hard, we are all typically ready for a night of relaxation with time to recharge. A night spent at the Omni Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa is the perfect combination of comfort, relaxation and plenty of fun at the pool and lazy river. Located just 45 minutes from Joshua Tree, 2 1/2 hours from Los Angeles or 4 hours from Phoenix, the Omni Resort is located right where you need it!

Omni Resorts: Family Fun in the Desert
The road from Phoenix is pretty dry with few places to stop and sightsee. On our recent road trip we had started in San Jose, California and wandered over two thousand miles through mountains and deserts. By the time we left Phoenix, we had seen so many amazing things and eaten some great food, but to be honest we were starting to feel a little road weary. We needed someplace to really relax and recharge.
We arrived at Omni Resort ready for some good food with plenty of time to relax and play in the pool and lazy river.
When you arrive at the Omni hotel, you check in at the main desk and receive your room assignment. There are multiple buildings on the property so the desk staff will give you directions of where to park.
When we arrived, our room was not ready. No problem at all. We checked in and then drove across the street to eat at the Old Spaghetti Factory. When our room was ready, we received a text telling us that we could pick up our room key and get settled.
The rooms are comfortable with plenty of space to spread out and unwind. There is even a porch area with a table and chairs where you can sit outside and watch the sun go down.
Splashtopia
Wander over to the pool, lazy river and waterslides to have some fun with the kids. Splashtopia offers something for everyone.

There are two slides in the area between the lazy river. There are towel stations available so you can pick up a dry towel while you relax in the lounge chairs.
