Kentucky Science Center for family fun!
We have had the opportunity to visit many amazing places with our kids over the summer break. This past weekend, we spent a day at the Kentucky Science Center -learning, discovering, exploring and had a great time! The Kentucky Science Center in Louisville, Kentucky is more than just another ‘children’s museum’. Sure, there are all the typical play areas for the toddlers, but there’s plenty to do for the older kids as well. Who am I kidding? I enjoyed it as much as they did! The Kentucky Science Center is not just for kids!
Kentucky Science Center – Not just for kids!
The Kentucky Science Center is located right in downtown Louisville on W. Main Street almost directly across from the Louisville Slugger Bat Factory. There are 3 main floors with hands on exhibits and things to experience with your family. The first floor is mainly for the younger children. Don’t miss the Kids Zone where they can play, dress up and discover on their level.
But then the fun begins for the older kids. Head to the 2nd floor where everyone can get busy and learn together! Can you work together to build an arch?
Discover and tinker with building blocks, magnets, PVC pipes, cell blocks……
Build and invent 3D shapes….
Take some time to learn from the Kentucky Science Center staff. We got to learn all about the wetlands and the effects of development on the environment. This was one of the highlights to my kids. They loved the personal interaction and wanted to make sure I gave a personal shout out to this staff member for doing a great job of making learning fun while they were at the Science Center!
Play with the spotlights and create some amazing shadows on the wall!
Head to the 3rd floor to learn all about the human body.
Before you leave, don’t forget to try you hand at creating a bubble!
It’s been 4 years since we visited the Kentucky Science Center. To see more pictures of the exhibits and see how much difference 4 years can make in the lives of my kids, feel free to take a few minutes and scroll these pictures of the Kentucky Science Center, 2010.

I am so grateful to see the photos from 2010. I had not been to the science center in years, I am now an adult with kids and decided to give it a go and was very disappointed with the new renovations. Wouldn’t you agree the science center from 2010 is so much better than what it currently is lol anyway there isn’t many pictures I can find of how it used to look, I sadly didn’t see the plane that was in the kidzone in your photos 🙁
