DIY Easy Sew Grocery Bag Storage
Do you have too many plastic grocery bags in your kitchen? I’ve tried stuffing them in a wall organizer but they just seem to multiply and fall out in the garage. I decided that I could create a simple tie bag that I will store them in and celebrate my love for adventure at the same time. If you have a sewing machine and about an hour, you can create this simple grocery bag storage idea.

DIY Grocery Bag Storage: Sew a Simple Tie Bag in an Hour!
Materials:
- License Plate fabric
- Scissors
- Pattern
- Plenty of Grocery Bags to fill it up
Decide on a Pattern
I have a shoulder bag from Old Navy that I have used in my laundry room for lint and dryer sheets. I studied it and realized I could trace it as a pattern and create the simple tie bag for grocery bag storage.
If you don’t have anything to use as a pattern, there are many free patterns to follow online. Here are a few options to help you get started:

- Cut out two pieces to create your bag.
- Sew the right sides together along the edges. (But remember not to sew the opening. Ask me how I know the importance of thinking about this!)
- Iron your seams before you start to sew.
- Tie the knots at the end and you are ready to start adding your grocery bags!

Don’t worry about perfection. Since I plan to use this bag to store grocery bags, I don’t need perfect seams or exact measurements. I love the way it turned out and am ready to start collecting all my grocery bags.

How do you store grocery bags? Have you ever made a simple over the shoulder tie bag? I’d love to hear or see your favorite creations!
