Aloha Rose Book Review
Every quilt has a story. That’s why I love the Quilts of Love book series. Each of the books is written by a different author who has a unique story to tell. I have read many in this series and always enjoy seeing how the author takes the pattern or origin of a quilt and crafts an entire story around the fabric pieces.
In this newest release called Aloha Rose, we get to travel to Hawaii to follow the journey of Laney Carrigan who is searching to find her birth parents. She arrives on the island only to realize that there is more to her story than she knows.
Aloha Rose Book Review
Not only does Laney have to deal with the insecurities that sometimes come with the adoption process, she also finds that there are complications with her birth mom and grandmother that she didn’t expect. Learning about the past is a hard thing to experience when it is not all a bed of roses.
Add to the story mix, an Hawaiian cowboy who is mixed with suspicion and attraction and you get an unlikely romance that finds a way to overcome.
About the Book
When Laney Carrigan sets out to find her birth family, her only clue is the Hawaiian quilt—a red rose snowflake appliquéd on a white background—in which she was found wrapped as an infant. Centering her search on the Big Island and battling fears of rejection, Laney begins a painstaking journey toward her true heritage. Kai Barnes, however, is determined to protect the people he’s come to regard as family. He thinks Laney is nothing more than a gold digger and blocks every move she makes toward her Hawaiian family. As their conflict escalates, it puts at risk the one thing that Kai and Laney both want most—a family.
