Why Choose Concord California
On our recent road trip through California, Nevada and Arizona, we flew in to San Jose Airport then jumped right into the fun adventure. We went straight to the Jelly Belly Factory in Fairfield and spent some time there. But after a full day of flying and driving, we were soon ready to check into the hotel and get a good supper. We stayed in the city of Concord California for 2 nights because it was centrally located for all the things we wanted to see in the area. The city of Concord offered us the perfect spot for easy access to San Francisco as well as the Jelly Belly Factory and San Jose.

Why Choose Concord California
Where you choose a city to stay for vacation is an important decision, especially when you have a full travel plan like we typically do. We need an area that offers great food options and access to the attractions, public transportation and cities on our list.
Concord, California did all that!
Where to Stay
One of the most important things for us is that we have a place to stay that is clean, comfortable and offers all five members of our family a place to relax. I am often asked how we are able to take such ambitious road trips with 3 teens and come back home still liking each other. The key for us is that we plan stops that cater to each personality and then give them plenty of time to sleep at night.
The staff at the Hilton welcomed us to Concord and helped ensure a relaxing time in their city.
Each member of the family has different things that are important. Whether you are planning some time to relax in the pool, squeeze in a quick workout in the fitness center or catch up on a few things on the computer, the Hilton has just what you need.
Where to Eat
Plate and Vine: Breakfast is available on site at the Plate and Vine. The first morning we didn’t have time to sit and eat a long breakfast, but the buffet was ready when we were.
There were plenty of options ranging from fruit, yogurt and cereal, to the hot items like scrambled eggs, breakfast meat and pancakes.
Eureka! Concord
Supper is an easy walk across the road where you can find several tasty options. Whether you are in the mood for pizza, burgers or something more, you can find it without even having to drive. We ate dinner at Eureka! Concord – an All-American Scratch Kitchen!
Lazy Dogs
Night two we walked across the road from the hotel and ate at Lazy Dogs Restaurant. The food was amazing, of course, but the thing that stands out even more than the delicious dinner was the service. Our server took the time to answer our questions and connect with each of us.
We have often said that the best part of travel is meeting the people on the road and our server proved that yet again. She found out that we were traveling from Kentucky and gave us some of her favorite local destinations and shared her love for exploring the world around her!
Why Concord?
The Hilton offers free shuttle service to the BART (San Francisco public transportation). After talking to the hotel staff, we decided that we did not want to drive into the city but wanted to take public transportation. This free shuttle saved us money and time.
Another shoutout goes to the hotel shuttle driver who chatted with us about her love for travel. She shared her favorite destinations and really took the time to be personal and make connections.
Because Concord is right outside San Francisco, you get to relax after your day of exploring yet still be able to access the things you want to see and do.
And of course, Concord is centrally located between the San Jose Airport and the Jelly Belly Factory.
Hop on the BART to explore San Francisco and Oakland (no driving required!). Sample the flavors of the region at our downtown farmers market. Kick back at the craft breweries along our ever-growing beer trail. Hike Mt. Diablo for breathtaking views of the region. Taste the world-renowned wines of Napa and Sonoma. Turn the kids loose at Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Concord. It’s all here.
