Stress Buster Ideas

Spot Clean the Basics

One of my personal goals is to have a house that people can just drop in without me having to stress over whether it is clean. I try to keep the kitchen and bathrooms at least wiped down each day so it’s never really out of control. There’s just something nice about coming into the kitchen in the morning to start fixing breakfast and having an empty sink and clean counters.

But don’t overcomplicate the clean-up process. Use a simple multi-cleaner and do everything you need to do with just one product. Charlie’s Soap, a family-owned North Carolina company, has been making cleaning products since the 1970s.

Their cleaners are designed to tackle everyday messes while using biodegradable ingredients and rinsing clean without leaving residue behind.

Pick Flowers

When you feel life starting to spin out of control, sometimes a simple walk through the garden is the best thing in the world. There’s just something calming about being outside where you can watch the sunrise and pick a zinnia.

And remember that even when your zinnias are starting to die back, now is the time to pick the seed heads and save them for next year.

Spend some Quiet Time

One of my favorite times of the day is when I can sit outside on the back porch and spend time with God. A few minutes reading can start the day off just right. I am still loving using my tracing New Testament. When I slow down and write God’s Word it definitely starts the day off right.

Bake something tasty

Over the past few years, I have been actively learning to cook and bake as much from scratch as possible. I love being ab le to go into the kitchen and mix up a batch of brownies, or homemade biscuits and serve it to the people I love. There’s just nothing like taking the time to bake or cook something in your own kitchen to just calm everything down for just a moment.

Pull on a comfy hoodie

I don’t know about you, but I love when the weather starts to change and I can pull out hoodies and sweaters. There’s just something so cozy about a comfy hoodie. Recently I went to Plato’s closet and shopped their sale racks and found several hoodies that are going to be perfect for this winter

jIf you deal with anxiety or stress, did you know that there are hoodies specifically made to help fight that? Cloud Nine Clothing offers weighted hoodies designed to provide gentle, calming pressure that may help you feel more grounded when you’re dealing with stress or anxiety. They look like regular cozy hoodies, but the added weight is designed to give you that comforting, wrapped-up feeling while you’re wearing them. Plus, they have discreet, built-in cuff stress balls that act as fidget tools.

Stock up on Gifts Now

One of the things that often causes stress to rise this time of year is the knowledge that Christmas is coming and with it all the unplanned expenses for gift exchanges. Beat that stress now by planning ahead. Start stocking your gift box now when you find stuffed amimals, cute mugs or fun gifts on sale or clearance.

I have added these little TY beanies to my gift box so I’ll be ready with stocking stuffers early!

Life is too short and too amazing to live stressed. How do you deal with the tension and anxiety that comes with living with people? I’d love to hear your best tips to share with others!
