Where to Stay, Eat, & Play in Erie PA
One of our favorite places on our Epic Road Trip this year was Erie, Pennsylvania. There’s just nothing more beautiful than enjoying dinner on the dock of the bay, watching the sunset on Lake Erie and spending the day making memories with our family! We have visited many cities over the past years on our road trips, but Erie is one of those that sticks out in our minds as a place to return on our next vacation!

Where to Stay, Eat, Play in Erie PA
Stay: Springhill Suites by Marriott
The first thing we do when we are planning a trip to a new city is to make reservations for our lodging. There is nothing worse for us than arriving at a city and having to spend valuable time searching for a hotel. Before we drove to Erie, we contacted the local visitors center and asked for recommendations for lodging. They directed us straight to Springhill Suites by Marriott.

What makes a good hotel?
When our family is on vacation, we have a few things we look for but one of the most important things for us, is the ability to stretch out and all get rest. We typically pack in a lot of experiences on a road trip. We did 11 states, 7 days and over 2000 miles on this trip. So when it’s time to rest, we need to all be able to stretch out and rest.
That’s why we try to get a suite where we have 2 beds and a couch so each of our 5 members can stretch out and rest before the next day’s adventures. Springhill Suites gave us exactly what we needed with the extended room and space to relax.

Eat: Smugglers Wharf
