Morning Moments in the Spring Garden
There’s something about spring mornings that just feels full of potential. The air is crisp, the birds are chattering, and my garden bench is calling my name. Today started with muddy fingers, a warm cup of ginger tea, and a little bit of quiet joy.

Morning Moments in the Spring Garden
I finally got around to planting some zinnia and aster seeds. These are some of my favorite flowers because they’re bright, cheery, and pretty forgiving if life gets busy and I forget to water them every now and then. I used bamboo plant markers and a Sharpie to label what went where—simple and effective. No fancy garden gadgets needed!
For the first time, I decided to try my hand at growing rosemary. I planted it in a small pot right on my garden bench. I’ve read that it’s great for cooking and even better as a natural mosquito repellent. Fingers crossed I can keep it alive!
Here’s a super simple tip that’s been working great for me—don’t underestimate the power of a couple of nails. I hammered a few into the side of my rustic garden bench and now I’ve got instant hanging storage for my hand tools. Trowels, garden scissors, gloves—they all have a place and I don’t spend half my time searching for them anymore.

And just like that—right on schedule—the yellow irises are blooming. These aren’t just any irises, though. I got this variety from my mother-in-law, and it’s the first year they’ve bloomed in this garden spot. Their sunshine-bright petals bring exactly the kind of cheerful color I’d been hoping for. Irises never catch me off guard with their timing—I can count on them to show up just as the daffodils begin to fade, like a beautiful handoff from one season to the next.
Now, about my morning tea—ginger is my go-to. Usually, I slice fresh ginger, add a spoonful of honey, and let it steep in hot water while I spend a few minutes reading my Bible. Lately, I’ve been trying something new: Ginger Bee Tea. Just a spoonful in hot water, and you’ve got instant, cozy ginger tea with no caffeine, no additives—just pure goodness. It’s the perfect way to start the morning.
