Easiest 5 Ingredient Fish Tacos

When we go out to eat as a family, my daughter and I have a favorite entree. We love ordering fish tacos! But the rest of the family has never tried them or understood why we love them. Since my husband is a big fan of fish, I was excited to see if I could make Fish Tacos at home. This past week I headed out for our monthly stock-up trip to Sam’s Club and picked up some Treasures from the Sea® Breaded Flounder Fillets. This Fish Taco recipe is so easy that even I can create a tasty recipe in less than 20 minutes!

Easiest 5 Ingredient Fish Tacos

There are some days that life is just crazy hectic. By the time we’ve juggled three kids in after school activities like Academic Team, piano practice, homework, YClub, LEGO club and more, it’s almost time to run out the door to get to Children’s Choir, Youth, AWANAs or other activities. Some nights we just need to have a super quick tasty meal that fills us up and fuels us for the next round of life.

These fish tacos fit that bill!

Since the recipe is so simple, I didn’t even have to prepare ahead of time. I simply pulled out the frozen Flounder and let it bake while I started a load of laundry and let the kids finish homework.

I am notorious about forgetting how long something has been cooking! Since I didn’t want this easy meal to be messed up by burning fish, I set the timer for half the required time. That meant I had 15 minutes to not even think about dinner while it was starting to cook!

When the timer went off, it was time to assemble the rest of the taco ingredients. I cut up 2 limes and put them in a bowl. We can use them to flavor our fish tacos or drop in my glass of water throughout the week!

Preparing the cabbage mixture was super simple. We purchased the prepackaged bag of cabbage and carrots when we were in Sam’s Club, so all that was needed was pouring in some of the Virginia Brand® Vidalia Onion Vinaigrette.

As soon as the fish was hot, I popped the tortilla shells in the microwave for 40 seconds and laid it all out on the table. Everyone could build the fish taco the way they liked. Some of us piled on the cabbage mixture and topped the taco with guacamole, sour cream and hot sauce while one of the boys ate the taco shell and fish by themselves. The beauty of this meal is that there was something for everyone and it was super easy!
