KY Renaissance Faire – Eminence, KY
A local friend took her 2 young grandchildren and traveled a few miles from home to discover knights, medieval dancing, jousting, and a world of pirates. Where did she find all this in Kentucky? At the KY Renaissance Fairee in Eminence, KY (about halfway between Frankfort and Louisville.) I have never even heard of this event but looks like there’s something new to explore this summer! KY Renaissance Faire
We had the most wonderful time at the Ky Renaissance Fair in Eminence Ky. It cost us $14 for each adult and the kiddos had free admission with a new school supply for the local Family Resource Center. This event runs from June 1-July 7 only on weekends with each weekend having its own theme. This last weekend was pirate weekend.
There were many people dressed as pirates and the public is actually encouraged to dress up in period costume. There were so many activities that we could not do all of them. We did watch the jousting contest, hear storytelling and walk through many interesting vendor booths.
The grandkids had their faces painted by a very talented artist, and made some interesting sand art creations.
My granddaughter was knighted at the king’s ceremony and we ate a very reasonably priced lunch.
This is a summer must do! Both kiddos loved every minute of it.
