Garden Shed Rescue
We have several little buildings on our farm that are in various stages of disrepair. This little building has been slowly falling apart since we bought the farm several years ago, but I really want to try to save the small shed. it adds such character to the property and is the perfect background for my zinnias and wildflowers. This past weekend, my son agreed to help me do some much-needed repairs so I could plant flowers on the front side wall.

My garden shed has one side that is falling apart so my son and I gathered our tools and started working. I didn’t want to buy any new wood to rescue the garden shed so we rummaged through the barn and found two pieces of wood to shore up the inside of the wall.
Once we had a piece of wood to stabilize the wall, it was simply a matter of reattaching the old side slats back to the exterior wall.
It’s not perfect and yes, we used screws instead of authentic square nails, but we’re pretty pleased.
I’m looking forward to planting hollyhocks and black eyed susans next year on the newly repaired side next year. But for today, I’m going to enjoy the zinnia bed on the other side.
