From Music to Podcasts: What I’m Listening to Right Now
I don’t always have something playing in the background—sometimes, it’s nice to work in complete silence. But when it’s time to clean the house, tackle a craft project, or get things done, that’s when I turn on a podcast or find some new music to enjoy. Listening to music, audiobooks and podcasts is a great way to turn mindless task time into opportunities for growth. Here are some of my favorites that I’m enjoying right now!

From Music to Podcasts: What I’m Listening to Right Now
Lately, listening to music has been even more exciting because my daughter released her first song in January! You can check it out here: Spotify Link.
To make the listening experience even better, I’ve been using a soundbar instead of wearing AirPods. Now, I can move around the house freely without worrying about earbuds falling out or missing part of a conversation in a podcast. The sound fills the room, making music and spoken words clearer and more immersive.
Crystal-Clear Sound Without the Headphones
The iLive 45-inch Bluetooth Soundbar with a wireless subwoofer and satellite speakers is a game-changer for filling your home with rich, immersive sound. Whether you’re listening to your favorite podcast while folding laundry or discovering new music while crafting, this setup lets you move freely without needing earbuds—perfect for making the most of your listening experience.

Finding New Music
If you’re looking for fresh music without committing to a paid subscription, there are plenty of free ways to listen:
- Spotify – Free version with ads and shuffle play
- Apple Music – Free trials available for new users
- Pandora – Free ad-supported stations
- YouTube – Endless music videos and curated playlists
And if you know a music lover, streaming service gift cards make a great gift! They let the recipient enjoy ad-free listening or premium features without the monthly cost.
Podcasts: Learning While I Listen
While I love music, podcasts are my go-to when I’m cleaning, organizing, or working on a craft project. They help me learn something new and make chores feel more enjoyable.
Here are two of my current favorites:
- Pioneering Today Podcast – Melissa K. Norris shares homesteading tips, gardening advice, and practical ways to live a simpler life.
- Roots & Refuge Podcast – A beautiful mix of farming, faith, and encouragement from Jess at Roots & Refuge Farm.
Getting Lost in a Good Audiobook
Lately, I’ve also been enjoying audiobooks, especially in the evenings or when I’m working on a slower-paced project. Right now, I’m making my way through The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien, and it’s been such a fun way to experience the story. The best part? You don’t have to spend a lot to enjoy great books! Free library apps like Libby let you borrow audiobooks straight from your local library, so you can listen without spending a dime. It’s a great way to fit more books into a busy schedule while still keeping your hands free for other tasks.
Whether it’s music to energize my day, a podcast to keep me inspired, or an audiobook to unwind, having a great way to listen makes all the difference. What do you like to listen to while getting things done? Let’s chat in the comments!
