Grandma’s Crossstitch Quilt

What do you get when you combine a love for quilting with the joy of cross stitch? You get a family heirloom!

Years ago, my Grandma did this cross-stitch quilt. When we decorated for her 85th birthday party, we pulled out her quilt treasures and used them to decorate the whole Fellowship Hall. There were many quilts, but only 2 that had the cross stitch handwork on the topper.

  1. I am curious if this was a common pattern for cross stitch toppers, and if you still have this quilted topper. I recently bought an identical one at an estate sale and am looking for some heritage and background on this item.
