When the weather starts to turn chilly, there’s nothing better than a hot bowl of soup with a slice of cornbread on the side. Making a batch of vegetable soup is one of the easiest ways to serve your family something hot and filling without spending a fortune! You can basically make it using whatever you have in your cabinets.
Cans of vegetables, Tomato sauce, V8 juice (optional), Hamburger
Brown meat (drain and rinse)
Add cans of vegetables, Tomato sauce
Heat, Simmer, Serve
Simple but tasty!
When I am serving vegetable throughout the week, if I have left over canned corn, beans, peas, potatoes, I will drop them in a ziploc bag and toss them in the freezer. My family won’t usually eat left over vegetables, but they work perfect dropped in a big pot of vegetable soup.
