SurfShelf Laptop Desk for Treadmill
I spend alot of time working on the computer. Between my ‘real job’ and my blogging commitments, I log many hours sitting on my couch. Since I have been working to get healthy, I was looking for a practical way to get exercise while I’m working. I did some research and found this SurfShelf Treadmill Desk: Laptop and iPad Holder I hinted a few times to my family that I really wanted to try it out. Guess what I opened on Christmas morning?

The SurfShelf Treadmill Desk is a very simple product. It is clear plastic and will hold almost any laptop and work on most treadmills, bikes, and exercise equipment. It says it can install in 1 minute.

- Fits 99% treadmills, bikes and ellipticals. Works great with iPads & any other tablet too!
- 100% MONEY-BACK GUARANTEE! Made of 100% super strong Polycarbonate and is fully adjustable.
- Watch online TV, DVDs, email, Facebook, play games, read blogs, Twitter – all while you lose weight!
- Easy to install and use (1-minute installation) and folds up to fit in your gym bag. Have fun!

I unpacked it from the box and looked at the components. Depending on the design of your treadmill, you will use one or both straps. Since mine doesn’t have a center bar, then I used 2 straps. You simply thread the straps through the plastic opening in the back of the plastic piece.
The hardest part for me was remembering how to lace a buckle so that I could tighten the straps easily. But once you put the strap through the buckle, you just tighten the strap around the handle of your treadmill.

The tray where your laptop rests is fully adjustable. There are little v-shape ridges that allow you to adjust the angle of your resting tray for your laptop.

I was impressed with how stable the laptop was while moving on the treadmill. This is not intended as a desk for running. But my goal is to be able to walk and get my steps in while I work. This SurfShelf fully helps me achieve that goal.

Once you have the desk in place, you simply place your laptop on the tray and tighten the velcro strap around the laptop. This secures the laptop in position so you can begin using the treadmill desk.
You can purchase the SurfShelf Treadmill Desk: Laptop and iPad Holder on Amazon for $39.95! Considering the cost of going to a gym or the time I waste sitting on my couch while I work, this is a great deal! I can’t wait to see my progress this year while I log the miles walking instead of sitting!

Do you have any kind of setup so you can work while you walk on the treadmill or ride a bike? I’d love to hear your experience and tips!
I was not provided with any monetary or product compensation. This was a personal purchase that I wanted to share with you.
This is a great idea! I have a pretty sedentary jib, but like to stay active.
This is an amazing idea. My friend has a stand up desk so he forces himself to stand and move while he works.
Love the idea but, your coordination has to be spot on for this one .
What a great idea!
This is one of those things I never thought about but now that I see it i feel like i have to have it!
I don’t know if I could walk and type at the same time….
I really want one!!
This is a great idea for a sitting job…
I love this concept. Wonder if it could be adapted for a stationery bicycle.
This is great! Love this idea for keeping active while working.
Would love to have the treadmill… But If i had one, this would be really neat. I always wish I had a treadmill so I could walk while I read. Its kind of hard to do that outdoors. 🙂
This would be great to be able to work and excersize without choosing with one first!
I so need one of these lol
Im surprised it’s taken so long for someone to make this!! Although, it would totally blow my excuse to get offline LOL
Too cool. LOVE this and want one. Mothers Day?
Oh my goodness, that is totally cool… I love that I could work, while keeping my routine.
