Raising vegetables in your own garden is something many of us enjoy that helps make sure our families eat right and are prepared for the cold of winter.  Whether you are planting a small container on your patio or enjoying a full garden in your backyard, there’s just something special about eating food that you grew yourself.  Here are some great tools to help you plan your garden!

Tools to Plan Your Garden

We love growing tomatoes, squash, bell peppers and cucumbers and this year experimented with some other heirloom vegetables.  But with the winter snows and cold temperatures outside, I have to be a little more creative with how we plan our gardens.

I have an Aerogarden that I frequently use to grow beautiful flowers throughout the winter months, but this year I’m going to try to grow cherry tomatoes!  

With the shorter daylight time of the season coming soon, now is a great time to do the research for your next year’s garden using these free tools!

There are many websites and apps that offer free tools that will allow you to design and plan your garden online. There are choices that you can drag and drop to help you design your spring/summer garden now.

One of the things I love about gardening is that every year you can start fresh but sometimes you’re not sure what works together best and how much space different plants need.  This is a great way to get an idea of how your garden can look.
