New Use for Old Dishes
I love going to yard sales in the summer. One thing you can almost always find at yard sales is the table filled with odds and end antique dishes. Usually there are stacks of odds and end plates or cups that don’t match anything else and they’re just beautiful and cheap.
I recently talked to a friend who says she can’t walk away from a yard sale table filled with these odd serving plates. They’re usually priced at $2.00 or less. She buys them and then saves them for those times when she needs to take a gift to a neighbor or friend.

You can bake a batch of homemade cookies or put some crackers or cheeseball on each of the plates. Then cover with saran wrap and take it to a friend.
This is a great way to turn a beautiful treasured plate into a heartwarming gift.
You can also take an antique teacup and fill it with teabag packages and turn it into a teacher’s gift.
How do you reuse antique dishes? What else can you reuse or repurpose to save money on your hobbies? I’d love to hear your ideas!
Wow – I could handle the smashing but don’t how good I’d be at making the mosaic lol…… But My mom had the kids make a plaster stepping stone for the garden and added in pieces of colored glass. Those turned out cool too.
