Visiting the Martin Luther King Jr Historic Site
As we celebrate the life of Martin Luther King Jr, I remember our family vacation a few years ago where we stopped in Atlanta, Georgia to visit the Martin Luther King Jr. Historic Site. It was a powerful feeling to step into the Ebeneezer Church and see where history was made. We were too late to actually tour the Martin Luther King Jr. Birthplace but we walked the street between the Church and the Memorial.
Visiting the Martin Luther King Jr Historic Site
Visiting these historic sites helps our children not just hear about the people and events that made our history, it also helps them understand the lives behind the events.
We can never truly understand historical figures like Martin Luther King Jr. or Abraham Lincoln, but we can study their lives, visit their memorials, walk the streets where they lived and take the time to learn about their lives.
