Making Cards from the Couch with the Cricut Joy

Some days are meant for full-time creating in the craft room but there are other times in life when you just prefer to sit on the couch – maybe you are dealing with health issues or just want to be comfy in the living room. If you are in a season of life where you want to make ‘homemade’ cards but can’t spend time in your crafting station, the Cricut Joy and a set of markers can be your go-to solution for making cards from the couch.

Making Cards from the Couch with the Cricut Joy

One of the great things about the Cricut Joy is its portability. It is a small device that you can plug in right beside your couch on a side table. Since the Joy connects to your phone via bluetooth there are no additional wires to connect. You simply download the Cricut app and design your card from your phone.

Tip: The Cricut Joy can do a wide variety of cutting projects using vinyl, infusible ink or colored paper, but when you want simple projects from your couch, I recommend using the Cricut Markers. The markers minimize the tools needed and elimate the mess from weeding out cut designs. Let the markers do the design work for you.

Directions

Use a blank envelope/card set and you are ready to draw designs, text and messages on the blank cards. With the Cricut Joy, you can insert the blank card in the blue card mat and print directly. Drop in your marker of choice and create thousands of different designs.

Many of the designs will print outlines of the text or images that you can then finish coloring or filling in with the Cricut markers.

Whether you are interested in creating note cards for general correspondence or need a thank you note for someone special, you can have the Joy draw your custom design. Now you have a whole set of custom cards ready to send out for every occasion!
