Are you ready to create some super simple faux leather keychains using the Cricut Cuttlebug? Materials Needed

About the Cuttlebug:
- Cuts and embosses a variety of materials including tissue paper, foils, acetate ribbon, and thin leather
- Works with other leading embossing folders and cutting dies
Directions
Stack the plates right. Read the directions that come with your Cuttlebug. Yes, this really matters. I found that if you stack the plates incorrectly, you won’t get the cleanest cut. (Cuttlebug Stacking Instructions)
Once you assemble the plates with the die and faux leather, you roll it through the Cuttlebug machine. I rolled it back and forth at least twice to make sure the cut was clean and precise.

Pick the shapes that you want to use for your keychain. The hot air balloon dies are really fun when used as intended. But the balloon shape also makes a great key chain base when turned upside down.

See how we turned it upside down, and now it is a perfect keychain shape so we can add whatever embellishments we want. Use initials, music notes, or movie theme dies to personalize each of your keychains.

- Cut out two of the balloon shape and glue them together.
- Use a hole punch to create a hole for the grommet.
- Cut out your custom embellishment.
- Use a glue stick to attach the design.
- Attach the key chain.
These faux leather crafts are perfect for birthday cards, backpack pulls or keychains. They take about 15 minutes to make and are a great way to make a custom gift.
