How to Make a Fresh Cedar Door Decoration
Don’t you just love the smell of fresh cedar? Recently I was in a hobby store and saw a beautiful door spray that served as inspiration for my newest holiday decoration. I decided to create my own fresh cedar door decoration. I gathered some fresh cedar, a few sprigs of berries, and a handful of basic craft supplies to get started. This is a simple project that you can do in 30 minutes from start to finish.

How to Make a Fresh Cedar Door Decoration
Materials Needed
- Fresh cedar or pine branches
- Red berries
- Pinecones
- Wire Wreath form (or metal hanger)
- Burlap ribbon for bow
- Christmas tree hooks or crafting wire
Directions
Spend a few minutes outside in nature cutting some fresh cedar branches and red berries.
Gently tuck the longer strands of cedar into the wire wreath. (I wanted my wreath to be tall instead of round, so I simply bent the wireframe into the desired shape.)
Continue to tuck in the cedar until you have the fullness you want. Then start adding in the red berries and attach the burlap bow.
For finishing touches, include other dried flowers you have in your yard. I love the look of my bee balm that has dried on the stem in the yard. Look around you and use what you have. There’s not a right or wrong way to create your fresh cedar door decoration.
I’m not sure how long the fresh cedar will last on my door but I’m going to enjoy it as long as possible. And considering the fact that I have quite a few cedar trees in our yard, I will just replace the branches when needed.
Have you ever made a fresh cedar wreath? I’d love to hear your stories and see your finished products!
