Have you ever taken a bunch of pictures at an event and wanted to turn them into a quick slideshow to share with friends and family? If you have access to a smartphone, you can create Flipagrams for FREE! Flipagram is a super fun app for your phone that lets you turn multiple pictures into a quick video clip. Whether you are a blogger or just want to share photos from your latest birthday party or family event, Flipagram gives you a fun way to share your photos.
How to make a Flipagram
Flipagram is a free app that you can download for your phone that will allow you to turn your pictures into a slideshow. You can reorganize the pictures, reposition them on the screen, and even add music to your slideshow. For a low one-time purchase, you can even remove the Flipagram logo. If you want to add text to or a title this is simple to do as well. So grab some pictures on your phone, and let me show you how to make your first Flipagram.
Here’s one of my recent Flipagrams that I created. I flew to Minneapolis for a work conference and just couldn’t take enough pictures of the beautiful clouds that we were flying over. But I knew no one really want to see a string of 25 pictures of clouds on my blog or social media. That’s when I knew Flipagram was the perfect option.
Step By Step Directions
#1 Take pictures with your phone.
If you have them on your computer or camera card then you will need to transfer them to a Google Drive, Dropbox or simply email them to your account so you can save them on your phone. Once you have the pictures on your phone, you’re ready to begin.
#2: Select the + to add a new program.
#3: Add moments to your new program.
Moments are what Flipagram calls pictures. You will need to allow the pictures setting on your phone so you can select as many or as few pictures as you would. If you want to rearrange them simply hold down your finger on top of one of the pictures and you will drag it into place. If you decide to delete an image, simply hold your thumb down and click the X. Once you have them in order, you are ready to go to the next step.
If the picture doesn’t tell the story you wanted to tell because it’s too far away you can click on the image and reposition it on your screen.
#4: Decide on the Timing
On the next screen you get to decide your timing. Do you want to time your Flipagram for a particular social media account like Instagram? Simply drag the slider from slow to fast to speed up or slow down your video clip.
#5: Add Music
To add music, simply click on the music arrow. This will open up a new screen where you can find music or use your own. The program allows you to use 30 seconds of many popular songs for free. This is not a violation of copyright rules. Just type in the title and see if the song comes up in the search results. Some songs will allow you to use a 30 second clip for FREE. You can also purchase a song if you feel the need to use more of the song clip. You can purchase that through your iTunes account for around a dollar.
Choose your music for your clip. You will have a wave option to slide the music so that it will start at the right segment. Just keep on using the preview button so that you can hear how the music lines up with your photos. Once you have the timing right, you can choose to share it on your social media accounts.
#6: Add Text
You can type in text or titles on your pictures. Choose different fonts by clicking the text button.
#7: Pay to Remove the Logo
If you don’t want to pay any money, you may just leave it at is and publish it. However, if you want to remove the Flipagram logo, simply tap the logo and it will give the option to upgrade. If you upgrade for the one-time fee then you will be able to click on the logo and delete it.
Do you have a Flipagram you would like to share? Got any tips? I’d love to hear.
