The recipe calls for grated German Sweet chocolate.  I tried a Hershey’s Dark Chocolate bar and it tasted fine, but probably needs the baking chocolate to help the consistency of the cake.  You can find the German Sweet Chocolate bar in the baking aisle.

  1. Hey Sharon! I see one recommendation to roll the chips in flour and another to roll them in powered sugar. Which one is correct? Can’t wait to try this! Thanks!!

  2. Sharon, I made this cake tonight. So you have any other hints. I rolled the chocolate chips in the powdered sugar and they still sank to the bottom and my cake stuck to the pan where the chips went to the bottom. I scrapped them out and laid them back on the cake. Didn’t look pretty but it did taste good. Just wondering if you had any more suggestions? Thanks!
