Garden of the Gods

Garden of the gods is a free national park area in Colorado Springs.  From the moment you enter the park, you are treated to amazing views of Pikes Peak and red rock craggy formations.

There is a visitor center but on our visit, we skipped that and went straight to the main entrance across the road. You can take official tours but it’s an easy drive on your own.

There are multiple places to pull over, stop and take pictures.  Depending on the time of day you visit, you may deal with crowded parking areas and lots of other people trying to get the same pictures but if you are patient and creative, you can get some amazing shots.

Don’t get stuck taking the same picture as everyone else.  Think about how you can create some fun perspective photos. They don’t have to be perfect!  Just have some fun!

If you are staying nearby, then go back at different times of day so you can get different angles of light and color.

Views of Pikes Peak

Pikes Peak, “America’s Mountain” is easily visible at various places in the garden. Whether you are planning to drive to the top of Pikes Peak or content to just enjoy the view from Garden of the Gods, you can get some beautiful views of the snowcapped mountain.

Have you ever visited Garden of the Gods?  What is your favorite stopping spot?
