Importance of Flea & Tick Protection #Seresto
When you become a dog owner, there’s a few regular expenses that are important to keep up with on a regular monthly basis. Obviously, you have to buy food for your pet, but flea & tick protection is also something that must be purchased regularly.
Importance of Flea & Tick Protection
We adopted our pet Yorkie 2 1/2 years ago. It’s hard to believe we’ve had him in our family that long. One of the things we were told when we adopted him was that he has very sensitive skin and can’t use the cheaper flea medications. There was only one type of flea control that worked for him without causing him discomfort. His current flea protection cost about $20 per month. If you multiply that by 8 months, we’re spending a little over $160 every 8 months just to keep him free of fleas. And if you want tick protection, that’s an extra expense.
Our dog doesn’t spend much time out in the woods, but he still needs tick protection. I check him regularly to make sure he hasn’t gotten any stray ticks from his time outside in the yard, but I really want him to have something on his body that helps keep him protected.
Fleas are not just a nuisance to our pets. They can also cause skin issues and lead to health issues. We don’t want our dog to have fleas and cause our house to become a place full of problems. Because of his sensitive skin, I even use a special shampoo to keep him from itching and having to scratch.
A New Option for Flea & Tick Protection
I just recently learned about a product called Seresto that provides flea and tick protection in a simple collar. The greatest thing about this is not the price (although I love that too! It’s less than $50 on Amazon to buy the Seresto Flea & Tick Collar!) But the Seresto Collar is supposed to give my dog flea and tick protection for 8 months! Now that’s something that makes me feel good!
Seresto for dogs won the Better Homes and Gardens New Product Award. This Award is voted on by readers of Better Homes and Gardens against other competitor brands.
I’m going to be testing the Seresto collar for the next 8 months, so of course I’ll let you know what I think as I try it out!

I just ordered these the other day for my dogs. They are more active with us in our new locations and I want to keep them protected. I am so glad that it worked so well for you – can not wait to get ours.
