Farmhouse Style Bowls with Dollar Tree & Cricut

I’ve been wanting to make some cute bowls to hold creamer pods and coffee filters for our new Airbnb Modern Farmhouse.  I’ve created a coffee station in the kitchen and wanted something I could leave out in the open and still look stylish.  So I stopped by our local Dollar Tree to pick up some white bowls.  What says FARMHOUSE better than simple white bowls!!

But I wanted to add a little something to them, to give it that next level of farmhouse cool.  So out comes my Cricut Explore Air 2!!  There are so many tutorials out there now on how to USE your Cricut machine, so I won’t go into detail for that (for those of you who don’t have one yet….oh my goodness…..you NEED one!!! but I will show you some of the processes.

I used the font Moon Flower Bold.  I think it resembles the Rae Dunn look that is so popular now.  Using Oracle 651 vinyl, I had the machine cut it out and then I weeded away the background, leaving the word Filter, in this case.

Here’s a picture of it after I attached it to the bowl. (Tip:  clean your bowl surface really well.  I like to go over items with rubbing alcohol and let dry.  I also use an old credit card to press the vinyl down really well)

This item is just to hold the creamer pods and filters.  I will hand wash it when needed, so it’s not an everyday dish that will be eaten out of.  Purely decorative folks!  But look how cute this is!  Plus it makes it easy for guests to know where the creamer and filters are!  Win Win!

What else are you doing with your Cricut? I’d love to hear!

Spread the love
