Easy Macrame Plant Hanger

I love learning new things and using supplies I already have. I have been watching Reels and Youtube videos of macrame plant hangers so recently I pulled out a skein of rope and decided to give this a try. It only took about an hour to go from start to finish and create my first easy macrame plant hanger. This first plant hanger uses the basic square knot and is perfect for a beginner like me.

Easy Macrame Plant Hanger

Materials

  • Rope
  • Scissors
  • Plant
  • Wooden Ring or Metal Hook

Directions

  • Cut 6 lengths of rope 100 inches long
  • Cut 2 lengths of rope 20 inches long

Attach the hook to something stable and start the process. I used two youtube videos to learn the process. The whole process of learning how to make the square knots and create the plant hanger took less than an hour.

This is a very forgiving project. At one point, I connected the wrong rope strands so I just untied the knots and redid it with no problem.

The hardest part of the project was tucking my calico kitten succulent’s long branches through the ropes. But I’m really pleased with the finished product. Now I just have to decide where to hang it.

Have you ever made a macrame plant hanger? Got any tips for my next project?
