Do you find yourself struggling to focus on projects that take a long time to complete? If you’re like me, I have a short attention span with my hobbies but I still want to make, create, and complete projects every day. With one skein of chunky yarn, you can make an easy crochet slouch bag. This project only takes about an hour from start to finish. Using the simple double crochet stitch and a big chunky crochet hook, this is a super simple project that turned out really nice!

Easy Crochet Slouch Bag

I don’t have enough concentration to pay close attention to a crochet pattern so I just kind of winged this project and I’m really pleased with how it turned out.

Materials Needed

Finished Crochet Slouch Bag

Directions

Start with a chain twice as long as you want the base of your bag. (my base is approximately 18 inches long) Depending on the yarn weight, you may chain a few more or less than I did.

Crochet a loose rectangle about 9-10 inches tall. I did about 8 rows using the basic double crochet stitch.

Make a handle by starting on one side and doing 4 double crochet stitches and then turning. I did about 16 rows of 4 dc and then used a single crochet stitch to attach the handle to the opposite side.

Use your tapestry needle to sew in the loose edges.

Is this slouch bag perfect? Nope! Not even close! But am I happy with it? Yes! Now I can add my next project and carry it from one room to the next in style! This is a fun way to transport books, snacks or maybe even some maps!

Have you ever made a crochet slouch bag? Got any tips or variations that I should include on my next bag?
