Do you ever find yourself needing more storage options but not enough money to go out and buy new bins and totes? I’m Olivia from DIYMother and I have a solution for bathtub toys and stuff. This is how I created $3 DIY Kid’s Bathtub Bins.
DIY Kids Bathtub Bins
I made a big decision a couple of weeks ago to finally get our family more organized, at least by the end of the summer. I’m getting tired of frantically searching high and low for pacifiers and wipes, only to find what I needed a week later in my toddler’s closet.
In my defense, I have a pretty valid excuse as to why my life has been so cluttered: we moved into our house last November and I had another baby in December. But as we get closer to the fall, I can’t use that as an excuse anymore.
This week, I began a massive overhaul to the kids’ section of the house, organizing everything from diapers and wipes to clothes and shoes. I obviously don’t have it in my budget to splurge on any organizers, but luckily I’m crafty enough to know how to make my own from dollar store items.
So, today, I’m excited to share my $3 bathtub storage bins with you all! I always get my organizing things from the dollar store, because they’re easy to customize. You can spray paint them, decorate them with ribbon, or hang them on the wall if you’re out of floor space.
I bought these cute bins from the Dollar Tree for about a dollar a piece. Then, I went to Home Depot and picked up these suction cups for under 2 dollars for a pack of 2. So that brings your total to just under $4!
The hook on these suction cups rotate, so just pull them through one of the holes in the side of the basket and stick them on wet tile. So far, they haven’t fallen down (even with the added weight of my toddler pulling at them) and it’s been a couple of days.
I’m super happy with how these turned out, and my toddler loves being able to put all of her toys back into the boxes when she’s done taking her bath. For more of my projects, check out DIY Mother!
