There’s just nothing more fun than watching cousins laughing and having fun together – making memories that will last forever! My sister-in-law and I have been talking about ways to help all the cousins build relationships even though we don’t live in the same town. With a 3 hour drive between all the cousins houses, sometimes it’s hard to get them together on a regular basis but we want them to share memories and stay close as they are growing up. When I was shopping in our local Walmart this past week, I saw some of the fun promotional products for the new Hallmark Northpole book and movie and decided this would be the perfect way to help the kids create cousin memories!
Creating Cousin Memories with Northpole
I headed straight to the seasonal aisles where all the Northpole items were. I knew for sure that I wanted to buy the Once Upon A Northpole Christmas story book + Find me Santa Snowflake combo so we could have a cousin story time after the Thanksgiving festivities. Then I started planning what I could buy so each of the cousins would have something fun.
When I saw the Magic Snowballs ($2.97 each) and Chill Cups (.97 each!), I had the perfect idea. There are 10 cousins on the Hale side ranging in age from 1 to 18. I wanted something that all 10 of them could enjoy, but wouldn’t cost me a fortune. I decided that each of the cousins needed their own chill cup and a snowball to throw at all the aunts, uncles and of course Papaw too!
I gave my daughter the sharpie and we started labeling the chill cups. Not only would these be fun to play with and hold the snowballs, but they would be perfect all throughout the holiday weekend visit!
Now we were ready for the cousins to arrive! The cups were labeled and the snowballs sitting ready for the fun times ahead!
The best way to make memories is to spend time together! These cousins enjoyed several days of crafting, wrestling, playing cards, corn hole and toys, driving in the golf cart…and lots of laughter! The memories they make as little kids growing up together will hopefully last a lifetime!
The night ended with story time in the kids room. My daughter read the book to the younger cousins as they all tossed around the snowballs and looked at each picture of the Northpole Christmas book! I can see this becoming one of our classic Christmas tales that we read each year!
How do you plan to make memories with your family this holiday season? Our hope is that when the cousins see their glowy snowballs or drink out of their fun chill cups that they will remember the fun of this past weekend and start planning for our next family get together.
These Magic Snowballs may only look like a little puffy white pom pom to you, but to us – it sounds like laughter, love and fun cousin memories!
