Cornhole, Washers, & Ladder Ball
Cornhole is a great backyard game that involves the whole family, gets you outside and doesn’t cost a fortune. We spent much of the day yesterday playing cornhole with the kids and some cousins. One of the fun things about this game is that everyone can get involved. Our 4 year old had as much fun as we did (and he enjoyed swiping some of the points from his cousin!)
The thing I love about all 3 of these games is that they require no batteries or electricty and they involve teamwork. Each of the games allows us to interact while playing.
You can buy Corn Hole boards from local craftsmen or you can make your own. A few years ago, my husband made us a set of boards and I sewed some bags so we could play in our own backyard.
Make Your Own Set:
How To Play
Point System
3 points for a cornhole bag that goes through the hole.
1 point for a cornhole bag that is on the playing surface.
Washers
Another outdoor game for the family is Washers. Some of our family members have regular Washer tournaments every time they get together.
Ladder Ball
We purchased a Ladder Ball set several years ago. This is a great game to play with kids since all you are throwing is small rubber balls on a string. It folds down easily and fits into a small carrying bag. This is a great option if you need something small to fit in your vehicle.
Do you play Corn Hole, Washers or Ladder Ball? What’s your favorite memory of playing an outdoor game? I’d love to hear!
Thanks so much! I appreciate it! 🙂
