Finding Beauty at Burgess Falls Sparta, Tennessee
The trail to the Burgess Falls are marked as strenuous, but honestly, we didn’t find the hike bad at all. There are quite a few steps built into the trail, so this is definitely not a trail for a stroller or those with problems climbing steps. But the trails are well marked and have a strong railing on most of the hike.
One trail leads you out to the three waterfalls with benches and overlooks along the trail.
If you are interested in swimming at the base of the falls, you can hike an additional trail down to the bottom and enjoy the natural swimming spot.
Burgess Falls State Park, located on the Falling Water River is noted for its natural beauty and four waterfalls that cascade down from over 250 feet in elevation. The last of these falls is the most spectacular, plunging more than 130 feet into the gorge.
