Year Round Gardening with the Aerogarden

If you know me very well, you know how much our family enjoys being outside working in the garden. Typically we have a nice sized garden which allows us to have garden produce all year round. But this summer we moved to a new house which means we didn’t get to have a garden. I have missed the daily walk to the garden to see what has sprouted and growing. But this winter, we will be enjoying our own herb garden from the warmth of my own kitchen. We’ve got an Aerogardenfrom MiracleGro on our counter.

Hobbies on a Budget received products for the purpose of this review. All opinions are my own. #AeroGarden

A few weeks ago we received the Aerogarden 6 in the mail. In less than 10 minutes, I had it assembled and in place on my counter.

The Miracle-Gro® AeroGarden® 6 is the extraordinary soil-free indoor garden that grows plants 5 times faster than soil. Grow fresh herbs, vegetables, salad greens, flowers and more… let your imagination grow wild! The AeroGarden 6 has a compact, triangular shape that is a perfect fit for kitchen countertops and tight corners. The AeroGarden 6 can be set up in minutes – just insert the Seed Pods in your garden, add water and nutrients, and then watch it grow! It’s as easy as 1-2-3!

I won’t deny or confirm that the kids and I can daily be caught watching to see what has started growing!

Things to Know about the Aerogarden

  • When you first turn on your Aerogarden, the light will stay on for about 17 hours. These bulbs are super bright and will definitely keep you up at night. You can turn them off when you want the night cycle to begin. It will automatically turn back on the next day.
  • There is no dirt which means no mess on your counter!
  • I filled up the water tank on the first day and have not had to refill any water yet in 2 weeks.

There are little plastic biodomes to cover the seed pods. It took about a week for the first sprouts to outgrow their space. Keep the plastic domes to use on the next seed pods.
