A Perfect Pet for Peyton
Have you heard of the 5 Basic Love Languages Study by Gary Chapman? They have now released a children’s book to help the kids understand that everyone has different ways they show and experience love. A Perfect Pet for Peyton tells the story of Penny and Peyton on their birthday and their exciting adventure to find the perfect pet at Mr. Chapman’s Perfect Pet Pal Emporium.
A Perfect Pet for Peyton
Mr. Chapman’s Perfect Pet Pal Emporium is a place that child would love to visit.
The kids epxloded with excitement. They were going to the most amazing pet store on the planet! It was like a zoo, a museum, a theme park, and a birthday party palace all in one place!
While at the Emporium, Mr Chapman had the task of finding the perfect pet for the twins and their 3 guests. During the course of the kids visit, Mr Chapman was observing the children’s responses, behaviors, like and special character traits. Each of the children ended up getting matched with the perfect pet for them – a monkey, cat, dog, parrot or bunny.
My Opinion
This book was fun to read with my children. The illustrations are beautiful and well done. Many of the pages have little sidebar questions or assignments to help keep the child’s interest.
The little animals are following Mr. Chapman around as usual. Can you find these? Lizard, rabbit, parakeet, mouse, ferret, hamster.
Throughout the story, I could see my daughter trying to decide which of the 5 love languages is hers. There is a quiz at the back of the book that you can read with your children to help determine which is their primary language. No one has just one way they experience and show love, but if you can understand the basics of these 5 languages, it does help in the relationships of family.
The book is hardback, full color with engaging expressions on the characters. This is a great addition to our book shelves.
Peyton and Friends App
I love the new augmented reality apps that are available now. If you have an iphone or ipad, Peyton and Friends App is a great FREE app to download. There are several games to play as well as the option to point your device at pages of the book and see the characters pop out in 3D. One of the games lets you move around your house looking for the pets. My kids loved finding the monkey on top of the TV or the cat sitting on the couch.
Have you tried the apps that go with books or movies? What’s your favorite way to use them?
You can order A Perfect Pet for Peyton: A 5 Love Languages Discovery Book from Amazon or request it at your local library.
