Easy Group Games for Family Night

What makes a great group game for family night?

There are two very important things to know about family night group games.

  • There must be only a few rules to learn!
  • The game must be short and sweet!

Here are some of our favorite group games for family and friends!

Sunk

Sunk is the unique social, skill and action game where the task is to add water – one drop at a time – to the cup floating in the water filled Sunk tank, without causing it to sink. We had never played this game, but let me tell you…. this one is a keeper and a great family game! It may seem like a simple concept, but Sunk is much more difficult than you imagine! Super easy to learn, a little more difficult to win!

Blast Box

Blast Box is the perfect family game, keeping kids and adults at the edge of their seat. Fill the box with balloons and use the spinner to determine how many pins to hammer into the box. Watch out! If your pin pops a balloon, you are blasted out of the game! #BlastBoxChallenge

*There is a simple pump to help blow up the balloons as well as little cardboard tabs to make it easy to tie the balloons between each round.

The rules are simple. Blow up a couple balloons and put them in the box. Then take turns hammering the plastic nails in to the box until someone pops the balloons. Don’t take my word for it. Check it out and see for yourself. It’s a real blast! Order Blast Box on Amazon.com today!

Pit

I grew up playing Pit with my family. We would regularly have big groups of friends over to the house and be yelling at the top of our voices, trying to get a corner on the Hay, Wheat or Rye market! But watch out for the Bear and the Bull. This game is based on the stock market trading frenzy but is so easy to learn that my kids love it as much as the adults.

Jenga

Jenga is simple….you build the tower, roll the dice and start removing the wooden blocks. The dice will tell you which blocks you are supposed to remove on your turn. You can play the classic Jenga or the new color options! Roll a “blue end”, you better hope you can find a loose block on one of the ends that is the right color.

  • Cornhole

  3. Our current favorite is bumpy blocks.. it looks like it would be boring and quickly sit gathering dust on the shelf but it is a BLAST and any age can play. It encourages hand-eye coordination, visual processing and fair gameplay. We love it (an it outranked UNO this month which is a HUGE deal).
