Covered Bridge Capital of Kentucky

Sometimes you can take a road trip to a far away destination and explore a brand new area, but sometimes you just have a short time to enjoy something in your own backyard. Covered bridges are a great way to connect with the history of an area and enjoy some beautiful views.

Sometimes finding covered bridges is a little tricky but if you visit Fleming, KY – Covered Bridge Capital of Kentucky you can enjoy several historic bridges in one county.

Covered Bridge Capital of Kentucky

There are three covered bridges in Fleming County. If you start your trip at Flemingsburg, you can make a circle and see all 3 of the bridges.

There is a Covered Bridge Museum in Fleminsgburg, but it has very limited hours. You have to make a reservation ahead of time to go through this.

Goddard Bridge

You can actually drive over this bridge. It is located right past Goddard Bridge Road on the right. You can drive across and visit a quaint, beautiful white church. There is a geocache located at this Covered Bridge.

Ringos Mill Bridge

You can not drive across this bridge. It is located just to the side of the road.

Grange City Bridge

You can not drive across this bridge. It is located just to the side of the road. This is the most rustic of the three bridges. Watch your step. Ther are a few holes in the floor. This bridge is scheduled for future repair work.

  2. I have never seen a covered bridge but would love to. I don’t think there are any in my area. You’ve inspired me to pursue finding out.
