I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Boys & Girls Clubs of America. I received a promotional item as a thank you for participating. Boys and Girls Club of America has partnered with JCPenney for the ‘jcpenney cares round up campaign.’ If you round-up your purchase to the nearest whole dollar while shopping at jcpenney from now till July 31 you can help make a difference in supporting afterschool programs at Boys & Girls Clubs across the country.
Ideas for Back to School Donations
If you have a Boys & Girls Club in your area, consider picking up some extra supplies and dropping them by the club location. If you don’t have a BGCA near you, why not donate some supplies to your local school resource center?
Many summer clothes such as t-shirts, sandals, and shorts are going on deep discount right now. Next time you are in JCPenney or other popular retailers, take a look at the clearance rack. You just be able to score some amazing cheap deals on great clothes that some kids could really use to make their back to school experience better.
Last year at the end of the summer season, my daughter and I went shopping at JCPenney. We were hoping to find 2 or 3 pieces of clothes on the clearance rack. Instead, we hit the jackpot. We were able to pick up bags of clothes at seriously reduced prices. Not only did we find plenty of clothes for my kids to outfit them back to school, bt we also found plenty of great items to donate to our school resource center. They were able to use them for kids who needed some back to school clothes as well as several items for Christmas boxes.
WHEN PEOPLE CARE, GREAT THINGS HAPPEN: Each month, jcp cares supports a new cause, inviting customers to round up their purchases to the nearest dollar. This small amount of change adds up in a big way for our monthly charity partner. Thank you for making a difference.
Do you plan to donate items for kids going back to school? Got any great stories about helping others during this back to school season? I’d love to hear!
