Colors of Fall in Kentucky

I love the changing seasons we get to experience in Kentucky. Last week I was talking with my Grandma who has seen more than 90 seasons come and go. She was telling me how she has visited many other countries, vacationed in Hawaii, Alaska and many areas of our United States, but when it comes time for real living, there’s just nothing like being in her home state of Kentucky. I have to agree that I feel the same way.

I love the way the seasons come and go. As soon as you get comfortable with one time of year, it’s time to change. The leaves are beautiful right now here in Kentucky. There are brilliant reds, oranges, yellows and even shades of brown that make the landscape spectacular.

One of the beautiful things about the colors of Fall is that you are possibly enjoying these same colors in your state! But there are some people in the country who are missing the crunch of the leaves and the colors of the season.

I’ve thought about mailing a box of leaves to my family members living in Florida who don’t get to enjoy this part of Fall. Instead, I’ll just share some of the pictures I’ve taken this past week here in central Kentucky. You’ll just have to imagine the sound of the crunchy leaves under foot!

Just today saw the pictures…and yes, I CAN imagine the crunching underfoot. Grandma Hale actually DID send me a package of fall leaves for my classroom kids to enjoy. They were AMAZED to see the colors! Great post, Sharon!

When I was in high school I went to Louisville for the FFA National Convention. It’s the last week of October. I absolutely loved it! I not only loved the weather, but the history. We don’t have 100 year old cobblestone sidewalks here. :) I would love to visit again.

Fall is my all time favorite season. Being from PA, I get to experience all of the seasons, and although the winter season is my least favorite, I wouldn’t trade it for the world. The colors of fall really show what an awesome world we do live in. Thanks for sharing all your beautiful photos. I enjoyed looking through them.
